The Firefly at Madison is a pretty Bed and Breakfast not far from Madison GA, one of the prettiest towns in the southeast. We have about 4 acres of woods, and it feels like home. We are interested in regenerative farming, local foods and fun, and have traveled all over the Southeast and beyond, and have stores to tell.

Bed and Breakfast Life
Welcome to Bed and Breakfast life. Think of it as a cruise, but with chickens. Every rock, tree, chicken, and piece of furniture has a story. We love that we’ve brought so much joy to so many people. Also click here for art classes and anything else we feel like posting.
Human Scale Living
One of the things we like about the places we go, and the Firefly in general, is the idea of “human scale living.” We’re always trying to make our place unique, and one of a kind. We’re a little island away from the mass produced, mass marketed and standardized. In fact, we try hard not to be standardized.
Backroad Travel
We are explorers too, and take road trips all the time. Along with the historic area around the Firefly, which is on the path of Sherman’s March, our roaming zone is quite large. We’ve explored all of the little towns in the area, and know where to get the best and most fun of everything.
Tales from the Firefly
We have a sister site, with children’s stories based on the friendly animals here at the Firefly. You can still meet most of them when you visit, and even get a peck from Weezy, the head chicken.

You will not find a better host! The location and atmosphere was perfect. Ellie suggested a local restaurant that was a great hit as well. We will definitely return.
We enjoyed our stay at Ellie’s home. Ellie is warm and friendly and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. We enjoyed visiting with her on the front porch after our activities in Madison and found our way back to the porch again after dark to enjoy a glass of wine under the stars. Breakfast was delicious, especially the Belgian waffles. We always miss our dogs when we travel. Ellie’s dog, Posh gave us the “dog fix” that we needed.
Ellie is a very friendly host. She gave us all kind of helpful information and treated us like family. The house is cute and the breakfast was great.
An amazing hostess and a fantastic bed and breakfast!! Ellie went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and even had a fire started when we arrived as a sweet welcome! Great breakfast, amazing accommodations and a fabulous hostess!
Ellie is a very gracious host with a beautiful home. Expect active communication and top notch hospitality. We loved playing with the chickens and the cats, and the wood burning fireplace was a huge bonus. Ellie even helped us set up an arts and crafts project in her living room! We had some initial problems when we learned the guest house wouldn’t be ready for our arrival, but Ellie put a lot of effort so that we were comfortable in her main house instead. My parents, husband, and I all loved our stay!
